News and events from the studio of artist Nemo Gould
First Sunday of the month = Alameda Flea Market. Always a good time. Not much in my cart today: Giant ice tongs, tiny rocking chair, small clock. A decent haul.

I’m stating to work on a “Bongo Rocket”. It will be interesting to attempt a ceiling hanging piece. I’ve never really done that before.

This image represents just a small sample of the incredible donation of treasures I received this weekend! Deep sincere thanks to my long time friend, tutor, and collaborator Christopher Palmer (CTP). This is just what I needed to get back into the swing of things in the new studio.

Got another archaic exercise machine this weekend. I’ve seen these around over the years but never actually taken one back to the studio. It has a pretty interesting range of movement. Bound to be useful eventually.

I’ve been fumbling with this old radio cabinet for quite some time now. I still can’t say that I’ve figured it out what to do with it, but at least now it rocks back and forth.
I’m planning to build out the area around the fake fireplace to be a large mouth, making the cabinet into a sort of giant head. For now anyway…..

A while back I posted a photo of this cool old heavy duty cart I found on the curb.  Well, it finally occurred to me recently that it would be happier as a table.  The part of the sides that I cut off were reattached in the middle so now its the perfect solution to storing odd lengths of metal stock too!

The first Sunday of every month is the Alameda Flea Market.  It is vast, impossible to see one side from the other.  It has taken me several visits there to learn to pace myself, and not grab everything in sight.  The real challenge is hiking the mile back to the car with your loot.  This time I showed restraint and only picked up one old wooden radio.  The final image in this sequence shows an early concept of what I may do with it, though it is really too soon to tell.

Yard sale. I don’t usually go for these, but this one is pretty classy and the price was right. We’ll see if I can come up with something worthwhile to do with it.
